Supplements Every Medicine Cabinet Should Have!

Most everyone gets “sick” at one time or another, especially during the change of seasons. Many people are confused about what to do: ‘Should I take NyQuil? Aspirin? Antibiotics? 

Should I follow my doctor’s advice and get a flu shot?’ While these interventions may provide temporary relief, none of them will make us healthy. On the contrary, they all have side effects. Even if a flu shot happens to protect us against a particular strain of flu, there will be upwards of another 200 viruses out there against which we won’t be protected.

In this newsletter, I’ll provide you with healthy alternatives for when you’re feeling run down or sick. This material is based on the advice I give to my patients, my family, and myself. 

NB. It should be noted that the following nutrients are not to be used in place of consulting a doctor, rather they helpful alternatives to self-medicating with over-the-counter medicine. Moreover, it is always advisable to be muscle tested by a professional Applied Kinesiologist before taking any supplements, however the following remedies can be very useful when a visit to an Applied Kinesiologist isn’t possible. 

Supplements should always be tasted when taken (sucked or chewed), not just swallowed.

TYPICAL INFECTIONS

Vitamin A: 1500 IU & Vitamin C 75 mg.

Thymus tissue: 125 mg. & Spleen tissue 200 mg. 

Zinc: 25 mg. 

Melia Azadirachta or Morinda Citrifolia:

URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS (UTI)

The above remedies listed under “Typical Infections” apply to UTIs. In addition, the following should be considered. 

Normal urine pH is 6.5 to 7.

NB. Monitor urine pH in order to avoid shifting your pH toward the opposite extreme. 

SINUS INFECTIONS 

The above remedies listed under “Typical Infections” apply to sinus infections. In addition, a nasal douche can provide effective relief, especially if nasal passage is alkaline: combine 1 tsp. of apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp. salt in water in warm water. Pour the solution into hand and sniff 3x a day.

In cases of persistent infections of all types or for additional support, the following should be considered: Berberine, Goldenseal, Arginase, Oregano.

MENSTRUAL CRAMPS

SOME HEADACHES, MUSCLE ACHES, HANGOVERS, SOME MENSTRUAL CRAMPS 

SORE THROAT

Suck on garlic clove every 2 hours and chew 1 thymus tissue tablet every 2 hours until symptoms subside. 

SLEEP ISSUES

BURNS (MINOR) 

Aloe Vera (plant) and Chlorophyll ointment applied topically. 

ALLERGIES / HIVES

Yakitron, Stinging Nettle, or Betaine Hydrochloride.
